January
2002 - Now that I no longer have asthma to deal with, I
decided to try hiking several hundred miles of the Appalachian Trail.
Out of the hundreds of people who attempt hiking the AT each year,
over 50% of them drop out in the first few days. To view my online
journal, gear selections, and my trail guestbook, go to http://www.trailjournals.com/jimq
and follow along with me on my journey.
After posting my 9th (preparation) journal entry with comments about
asthma, I started receiving email inquiries from people with asthma
or with friends or relatives with asthma. The AsthmaStory.Com
website was created in response to all the inquiries I received
so I could present the research I found on the subject in a somewhat
organized manner.
My Appalachian trail name is HotFoot.

New Appalachian Trail Plans for 2005. I didn't
get to backpack much in 2004, so for 2005 I've decided to see if
I can do another 200-250 miles of the AT. I love backpacking/hiking/camping
on the AT. If you're interested, I may fire up the journal
sometime in January or February 2005.
